Rly track near Palia Kalan at risk after flooding
LUCKNOW, July 7 -- Following the release of a large volume of water from the Banbasa Barrage on June 28, severe waterlogging has been reported in Palia Kalan and surrounding areas of Lakhimpur Kheri district, said Railways. "The inundation has raised concerns over the safety of the Bhira-Palia railway track, particularly the stability of the nearby "Railway Bank," read a Railway press note.
"Leakage under the Railway Bank due to floodwaters is a serious concern and poses a potential risk to rail operations. In view of this, the Railway Administration is undertaking all necessary measures to ensure safety and prevent disruptions," said Mahesh Gupta, public relations officer of North Eastern Railway (NER), Lucknow....
