LUCKNOW, Dec. 22 -- Following his selection in Team India for the upcoming T20 home series against New Zealand and also for the upcoming T20 World Cup, Rinku Singh has been named captain to lead former champions Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, beginning December 24. Even with Rinku in the team, Uttar Pradesh failed to qualify for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy last month. Left-hander Rinku is expected to play all the league matches for Uttar Pradesh as the home series against New Zealand starts on January 11 at Vadodara. Team India regular Kuldeep Yadav is also expected to play the last three league matches of the event as the BCCI has made it mandatory for all members of the Indian team to participate in at least two rounds of the List A event. "The 18-member team doesn't have the name of Kuldeep Yadav as of now, but he is expected to play at least the last three league matches," UPCA's media committee head Sanjay Kapoor said on Monday.
