Remain alert to ensure public safety during monsoon: dhami
Dehradun, July 22 -- Folloiwng heavy rainfall across Uttarakhand, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday issued a stern directive to all administrative officials to remain on 24-hour alert during the monsoon season to ensure public safety and prevent loss of life and property.
Chairing a high-level review meeting at the State Disaster Operations Centre in Dehradun, the CM assessed the state's preparedness and response to monsoon-related emergencies. He virtually connected with the district magistrates across all districts to review rainfall conditions, road connectivity, power and water supply status, and arrangements for the ongoing Char Dham and Kanwar yatra.
"Real-time weather updates must reach the public without delay," he said. He asked officials to keep the disaster management mechanism fully active at the district, tehsil, block, and village levels. He said the response time in dealing with any emergencies should be minimised to reduce disruption to daily life. htc...
