LUCKNOW, April 19 -- In wake of the devastating fire that gutted large parts of the Vikas Nagar slums, leaving hundreds homeless, Aastha Hospice and Geriatric Care Centre has launched a weeklong relief drive to support affected families. "A dedicated relief camp has been set up within the slum area, which will function from April 18 to April 25, providing immediate and sustained assistance. The initiative aims to serve as a central hub for distributing essentials to those who lost their homes and belongings in the blaze," read a press statement. Backed by community contributions collected during 'Giving Saturday', Team Aastha has begun distributing clothes, footwear, utensils and other daily-use items. Children's items and basic household supplies are also being provided. Founder Dr Abhishek Shukla said the effort focuses on consistent support to help families stabilise after the tragedy.
