LUCKNOW, May 18 -- A 25-year-old man drowned while attempting to save his relative, a 37-year-old high court advocate who had jumped into the Indira Canal allegedly following a confrontation with his wife under the Chinhat police station limits late Friday night. Police said the body of the man who tried to rescue the advocate was recovered by divers on Saturday, while the advocate remains missing. The deceased was identified as Shivam Upadhyay, a native of Mohammadpur village in Mau district. He reportedly jumped into the canal to rescue his relative, Anupam Tiwari, who had leapt into the water following a quarrel with his wife. Tiwari, a resident of Nawada Gopalpur village under Madhuban police station in Mau district, was a practicing advocate at the Lucknow bench of the high court.
