Lucknow, June 27 -- Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) has approved allowing scholars, researchers and educationists not associated with the university to access the library. The university has planned three accesses for those wishing to become a member of the library. "A special membership of the library will be given to eminent scholars, researchers, educationists and any other person who is a resident of Lucknow. One can become a member of the library by submitting the membership form along with a security deposit of Rs 500 and a non-refundable annual membership fee of Rs 500 per year along with two residential proofs like - voter ID card or ration card. Guest lecturers, retired teachers and staff members of the university can also become special members of the library," said library in-charge and spokesperson DSMNRU, prof Yashwant Virodai. "A person interested must register himself as an irregular member of the library by submitting proof of address or a letter from the institution to which they are affiliated with. No books will be issued to irregular members, but they can utilise the photocopy facility by paying a nominal amount," said Virodai. The corporate membership will be available for any organisation in Lucknow which will be required to pay a non-refundable annual membership fee of Rs 1500. "The organisation will be entitled to six library tickets to borrow books from the library. This facility will be given by the organisation to its employees," Virodai added....
