Red alert for dense fog in over 20 districts of UP
LUCKNOW, Dec. 27 -- The ongoing spell of dense to very dense fog continued in Uttar Pradesh on Friday with slight variations in its daily regional distribution. Cold day conditions were observed in some districts as maximum temperature remained five degrees Celsius below normal.
These weather conditions are likely to continue for the next 5 to 6 days. As a result, dense to very dense fog is likely to prevail in some parts of the state, and cold/very cold day conditions are also likely to continue.
The Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, issued an orange alert for some districts of the state and a red alert for others.
The IMD issued a red alert warning of severe to very severe dense fog in over 20 districts of UP, including Gorakhpur, Gonda, Barabanki, Sitapur and Ayodhya for Saturday and orange alert for over 30 districts.
