Re-tendering of 40 shelters, auction of old buses approved
LUCKNOW, March 26 -- The Lucknow City Transport Services Limited (LCTSL) on Wednesday approved re-tendering of 40 bus shelters and cleared the auction of old, non-operational buses during its 50th board meeting chaired by divisional commissioner and chairman Vijay Vishwas Pant.
The board took key decisions aimed at strengthening public transport infrastructure and improving the financial position of the city transport body, stated an official release from the Lucknow Municipal Corporation.
The board approved fresh e-tendering for 40 bus shelters developed under the Smart City project after revising earlier conditions. Officials said the move will ensure better upkeep, efficient management and improved commuter convenience at bus stops.
It also cleared the proposal to auction outdated/unused buses and approved revised base prices for these vehicles, expecting the move to generate additional revenue and reduce maintenance costs.
The board reviewed operations from October 2025 to February 2026, analysing bus operations, passenger numbers, revenue generation and expenditure. Officials discussed measures to improve efficiency and enhance service delivery.
