Rare urological surgery conducted
LUCKNOW, July 31 -- A 9 year old girl, Anshika Mishra, from Barabanki, underwent a successful surgery at King George's medical university (KGMU), to correct complex urological issues. The girl had been experiencing urinary incontinence and was diagnosed with a non-functioning left kidney and a dilated ureter that opened abnormally into the vagina, a release shared with the media on Wednesday, read. The surgical team performed a laparoscopic nephroureterectomy to remove the non-functioning left kidney and ureter. The surgery was complex due to the abnormal opening of the ureter into the vagina.The surgery was successful, and Anshika's condition has improved significantly.
