Agra, Aug. 23 -- A man accused of raping a minor girl last Saturday was arrested following a police encounter here on Friday, police said. Assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Akshay Mahadik said the suspect, identified as Junaid, fired at a police team near Paliwal Park and got hurt in the leg in retaliatory firing by police. He was then taken to a hospital. An illegal country-made pistol and cartridges were recovered from him. The ACP said the police were looking for co-accused Asif.
