Ram temple second anniversary celebrations to be held on Dec 31
AYODHYA, Dec. 27 -- The second anniversary of the consecration of Ram Lalla (infant Lord Ram) will be celebrated at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on December 31, said an official communique.
Religious rituals for the second anniversary will begin on December 27, while the main ceremony will be held on December 31 and other religious programmes will continue until January 2, 2026.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath are likely to attend the main ceremony as chief guests.
Rituals will be performed under the supervision of senior seer Madhvacharya. Cultural events will begin on December 29, featuring various religious and cultural presentations. To facilitate devotees' movement, arrangements have been made for access to Angad Tila via Sugreev Path.
On December 31, the defence minister will hoist the flag at Annapurna Temple in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex and participate in the Pratishtha Dwadashi programme.
Gopalji, associated with the management of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, said at a meeting of workers that preparations for the event were in the final stage.
He added that extensive arrangements were being made for welcoming devotees from across the country and abroad.
Although the Ram temple's consecration ceremony was performed on January 22, 2024, the anniversary is determined according to the Hindu calendar.
