LUCKNOW/NEW DELHI, June 3 -- Rajit Gupta of IIT Delhi zone has topped in the Common Rank List (CRL) of this year's Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced (JEE-Advanced) for admissions to premier engineering colleges. He obtained 332 out of 360 marks. The result was declared on Monday. Devdutta Majhi of IIT Kharagpur zone is the top-ranked female candidate with CRL 16. She obtained 312 marks. Only male students made it to the top 15 list. Among the top 10 candidates, four are from IIT Delhi zone, three from IIT Bombay, two from IIT Hyderabad and one from IIT Kanpur. Out of the top 100 candidates, 31 each are from Bombay and Delhi zone while 23 are from the IIT Hyderabad zone. Kanpur zone has four candidates in the top 100, Kharagpur five and Roorkee six. Four students from preparatory centres at Rajasthan's coaching hub of Kota have secured the first, second, sixth, and seventh positions. A total of 180,422 candidates appeared in both papers 1 and 2 in JEE (Advanced) 2025, held on May 18. A total of 54,378 candidates have cleared the exam - 44,974 male candidates and 9404 female, according to a press release. IIT Kanpur has declared the JEE Advanced Results this year. Another IIT Delhi zone candidate Saksham Jindal, who also scored 332, has been ranked second. Majid Mujahid Husain of IIT Bombay zone with 330 marks ranked third. Parth Mandar Vartak of IIT Bombay zone ranked fourth with 327 marks. Ujjwal Kesari of IIT Delhi zone stood fifth with 324 marks. IIT Kanpur zone candidate Akshat Kumar Chaurasia is placed sixth with 321 marks. He is the only candidate from the zone who made it among the top 10 candidates. Sahil Mukesh Deo of IIT Bombay zone also scored 321 marks and stood seventh. Devesh Pankaj Bhaiya of IIT Delhi (319 marks) got the eighth rank, Arnav Singh of IIT Hyderabad (319 marks) was placed ninth and Vadlamudi Lokesh of IIT Hyderabad zone was tenth with 317 marks. Rajit Gupta, 18, said his father, Deepak Gupta, a sub-divisional engineer in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, inspired him. "My father has been an inspiration," said Rajit , whose mother, Shruti Agrawal, teaches home science at a Kota college. Rajit Gupta credited his focus on ensuring he did not repeat his mistakes for his success. "...because only when the mistakes are removed, the foundation of your subject becomes strong," he said. Saksham Jindal, 18, who is from Haryana and secured the second rank, said he dreamt of being a cricketer before the Covid-19 lockdown. "I played at the under-14 level in Haryana's Hisar district. But my practice stopped during Covid-19. I had no clue what to do. I found my new interest in puzzle games and mathematics-based activities. I also started appearing for Olympiads. Gradually, I decided to take JEE," said Jindal. IIT Kanpur, through its official X handle, congratulated all the outstanding achievers of JEE Advanced 2025. Among the top 500 candidates who cleared JEE Advanced, IIT Bombay zone has a maximum of 145 candidates, IIT Hyderabad zone 139, IIT Delhi zone 111, IIT Roorkee zone 53, IIT Kharagpur zone 32, IIT Kanpur zone 17 and IIT Guwahati zone three. Here's a list of zone-wise top female candidates: Alice Paatel of IIT Bombay zone (155 CRL), Larissa of IIT Delhi zone (59 CRL), IIT Guwahati zone's Saumya Shreyasee (581 CRL), IIT Kanpur zone's Harshita Goyal (434 CRL) and IIT Kharagpur zone's Devdutta Majhi (16 CRL) is the topper among all the women candidates who qualified JEE Advanced. IIT Hyderabad zone's Korikana Rasagna (78 CRL) and Piusa Das (29 CRL) have topped in IIT Roorkee among women candidates. The top five candidates from IIT Kanpur zone are: Akshat Kumar Chaurasia (CRL 6), Chirayu Jain (CRL 28), Shreyas Lohiya (CRL 68), Krishna Agrawal (CRL 75), Prayag Tiwari (CRL 112). From IIT Mumbai zone, the top five rankers are: Majid Mujahid Husain (CRL), Parth Mandar Vartak (CRL), Sahil Mukesh Deo (CRL 7), Arnav Nigam (CRL 11) and Mohit Agrawal (CRL12).
