Raj govt official shot dead by RAC jawan in Jaipur
Jaipur, Aug. 6 -- A 32-year-old jawan of Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) on Tuesday morning shot a state civil servant dead over a domestic dispute and then surrendered in a police station in Jaipur, said officials.
Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (ADCP) Jaipir (West), Alok Singhal, said, "The incident happened in Bagru area at 6:30 am and then surrendered at Phulera police station. The jawan, Ajay Kataria, fired around seven rounds of bullets at the victim, Shankar Lal, who who was an inspector to the Labour Department in Rajasthan and also a relative to Kataria." According to the officials, Shankar, who was also Kataria's brother-in-law, had recently fixed a match for him with one of his distanced sister.
"They got engaged also but it broke as the bride told Kataria that she has a relationship with another person. Yet, he wanted to sit with the woman and solve the problems but Shankar denied that enraged Kataria," he said. htc...
