Agra, Sept. 2 -- Flood threat looms large in low-lying areas in Agra after water level of the Yamuna crossed danger mark at 495 feet and was flowing at 496.1 feet on Monday. However, those who visited the Taj were delighted to view the monument with Yamuna flowing along the northern wall, a sight rare all through the remaining part of the year. Agra has received continuous rains, specially in Bah tehsil area, since Sunday and vigil has been enhanced in low lying areas. The incessant rains brought down the temperature of Agra to 30.2 degrees celsius as maximum and 24.9 as minimum on Sunday. The rains since late hours of Sunday continuing on Monday morning left Aligarh waterlogged all over to an extent that the lifeline of the city, Ramghat Road turned into a pool on Monday. Slogans were raised against Aligarh Nagar Nigam over waterlogged streets. The water even entered hospitals in Aligarh. Owing to continuous rain and waterlogging reported in several parts of the district, DM Rajeev Ranjan declared Monday as holiday for classes till 12th in Aligarh. Meanwhile, in Hathras city, the tent laid for the fair of Dauji Maharaj collapsed during rains on Monday creating panic amongst the child artistes performing on stage. Schools remained closed on Monday in Etah and Kasganj districts. Short duration rain on Monday afternoon left many of the areas waterlogged in Mathura.
