LUCKNOW, Aug. 7 -- Heavy rainfall on Wednesday morning left several parts of the state capital waterlogged, prompting the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) to swing into action with immediate relief and drainage measures. The corporation mobilised teams across all eight zones to address complaints and ensure swift water disposal, stated a LMC press release on Wednesday. LMC senior officers said that zonal officers, engineers from the engineering and Jal Kal departments, and sanitary staff took charge of operations on the ground. Mayor Sushma Kharakwal said the corporation is fully alert and committed to minimising inconvenience to citizens during the monsoon.
