LUCKNOW, May 31 -- The state capital and its adjoining areas experienced rain on Friday evening which provided some relief from humid conditions. Wind at a speed of 50 KMPH has been reported in Lucknow. Kanpur city experienced 5.6 mm rain and strong winds at 70 kmph. Sultanpur recorded 12 mm rainfall. More or less similar situation is likely to prevail on Saturday as well with gradual reduction thereafter, the weatherman said. The forecast for Lucknow for Saturday is generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers. Day and night temperatures will be around 40 and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively. On Friday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were pegged at 40.2 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively. "Rain/thundershower very likely at isolated places over West UP and few places over East UP," the forecast for the state read. IMD has further issued a warning of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/gusty winds (speed 30-40 gusting to 50 Kmph) very likely at isolated places over West UP and (40-50) kmph over East UP. "Due to the interaction between moist surface easterlies in lower tropospheric levels with dry mid tropospheric westerlies of ensuing western disturbance light to moderate rainfall activity has been observed at different locations of the state accompanied with gusty/squally winds at 70 KMPH at Kanpur airport on Friday evening, weatherman said....
