Railways introduces special trains to tackle festive rush
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 15 -- As the festive season approaches, passengers are struggling to find reserved seats in regular trains, especially for long-distance routes. In response to this high demand during Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath, Indian Railways has announced a series of special trains connecting major cities such as Pune, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Danapur. These trains will operate for a limited period and are expected to provide much needed relief to travellers, stated Amit Malviya, senior PRO of North Central Railways.
Train number 01143/01144, running between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai) and Danapur, will operate from September 25 to November 30. Train 01143 will depart from Lokmanya Tilak at 10.30am and arrive at Prayagraj Chheoki the next day at 10.40am. In the return direction, train 01144 will leave Danapur at 9.30pm and reach Chheoki by 5.45am the next morning.
Similarly, train number 01449/01450 between Pune and Danapur will run from September 27 to December 2. Departing Pune at 3.30pm, it will reach Chheoki at 5.45pm the following day. The return train will depart Danapur at 5.30 am and arrive at Chheoki at 12.55pm.
Another special service, train number 01017/01018, will also run between Lokmanya Tilak and Danapur during the same period. Train 01017 will depart Lokmanya Tilak every Monday and Saturday at 12.15pm, arriving at Subedarganj the next day at 2.35pm. On the return leg, train 01018 will leave Danapur every Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30am and reach Subedarganj at 8.05am. In addition, train number 01123/01124 between Lokmanya Tilak and Mau will operate via Subedarganj from September 26 to December 2, while train number 01051/01052 connecting Lokmanya Tilak and Varanasi will run twice a week from September 24 to November 27, also via Subedarganj.
For travellers heading to or from Pune, train number 01481/01482 between Pune and Danapur will operate twice a week via Prayagraj Junction. Similarly, train number 01431/01432 between Pune and Ghazipur City will run twice weekly via Subedarganj.
Railway officials have urged passengers to book their tickets in advance, as these special trains are expected to see high demand during the upcoming festival season....
