Varanasi, Nov. 28 -- The divisional railway manager of Varanasi, Ashish Jain, said that the railway division is taking several steps to offer better freight transport facilities to industries and businesses. He was speaking at a Freight Customer Meeting held on Thursday. The meeting, chaired by Jain, included business representatives, industrial groups, the business development unit, additional divisional railway manager Ajay Singh and senior divisional commercial manager Sheikh Rehman. Jain said the event aimed to strengthen cooperation and make railway transport safer, reliable and cost-effective, urging traders not to overload trucks. Rehman said the meeting aimed to build trust and presented freight progress: 19 goods warehousing stations, 10 parcel stations, plans to raise traffic by 2026, upgrades at several stations, new facilities at three locations and CCTV at Indara, Siwan and Kusmi.
