Patna, June 7 -- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday repeated his controversial "surrender" accusation against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a remark that had triggered vociferous criticism from the BJP earlier this week. Citing claims by US President Donald Trump, the Leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha accused the PM of bowing to US pressure to halt the military conflict with Pakistan triggered by the killing of 26 civilians on April 22 in Kashmir's Pahalgam. New Delhi has repeatedly clarified that a truce was reached after bilateral contact between military officials on both sides. At a gathering in Nalanda district of Bihar, Rahul Gandhi also targeted the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government of turning Bihar into a "crime capital" from a land of "truth, justice and non-violence". "There was a time when Bihar used to show the path not only to India but to the whole world. People used to come to Nalanda for learning. Now people from Bihar are going out, as there is no job for them," said Gandhi. Gandhi added that he feared the BJP government would not conduct the caste census in the right manner.
