Pvt sleeper bus catches fire on Yamuna e-way, none injured
Agra, Jan. 23 -- A private sleeper bus from Banda heading towards Delhi caught fire at 110 milestone of the Yamuna expressway within limits of Mant police station of Mathura district in the wee hours of Thursday. All 50 passengers on board safely got down and none were hurt in the incident.
Superintendent of police (rural) Suresh Chandra Rawat said there were about 50 passengers on board the private sleeper bus which last stopped at Kanpur and was heading for Raya cut in Mathura at about 6am when an unusual sound was heard from the rear part of the vehicle.
Sparks were found to be emitting near the rear tyre of the bus.
"The bus had scheduled stoppage at Raya cut, but the driver immediately stopped the bus at the spot and the passengers were asked to get down before the fire started spreading," said Rawat.
"No passenger was hurt and the fire was doused by fire tenders that reached the spot," he said....
