Purvanchal's first PPP model Sainik School to open in Prayagraj
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 26 -- Marking a significant milestone for the region, Purvanchal's first and Uttar Pradesh's fourth Sainik School will open in Nawabganj, Prayagraj, under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The school is set to begin operations from the 2026-27 academic session, with admissions for Classes 6 and 9 starting in January 2026.
The Sainik School Society, operating under the ministry of defence, has granted permission to Access International School in Nawabganj to run the institution as a Sainik School. Spread across 10 acres, the fully residential school will follow the CBSE curriculum.
There will be 80 seats each in Classes 6 and 9. Admissions will be conducted through an all-India entrance examination, with 60% of the seats allocated based on merit and the remaining 40% reserved under the management quota.
Describing the initiative as a major milestone for Prayagraj, divisional joint director of education RN Vishwakarma and district inspector of schools PN Singh welcomed the development.
School director Yogendra Vaishya outlined the school's objective-to prepare students academically, mentally, and physically for admission to the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy.
The campus will be equipped with extensive physical training facilities, including a running track, cross-country track, indoor games area, parade ground, boxing ring, firing range, horse riding club, and grounds for football, hockey, volleyball, and basketball, along with a swimming pool....
