Public plaza to offer recreational facilities to visitors
PRAYAGRAJ, June 14 -- After the success of Shivalaya Park in Arail locality of the city, preparations are on to construct a public plaza near its premises on the banks of Sangam. The public plaza will be constructed on 40,000 square-metre area for which the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started preparing a plan under Nagar Abhyudaya Yojana.
As per reports, the public plaza will offer city residents as well as tourists with different facilities, including boating in the lake besides outdoor sports facilities inside the complex premises.
According to municipal corporation chief engineer Anil Maurya, under the Nagar Abhuday Yojana, four proposals worth Rs 65 crore had been presented before Amrit Abhijat, principal secretary of Urban Development department.
Apart from the public plaza, a proposal has also been presented to develop Loknath area as a heritage locality, install attractive lights outside the All Saints Cathedral besides set up a zonal office of PMC in Mundera.
The proposal to build the public plaza on 40,000 square metres land area has been finalized and the land has also been marked for construction of the plaza near Shivalaya Park. The cost for construction of the new public plaza is estimated to be around Rs 25 crore.
Apart from the children's play area, Japanese garden and food court, there would be arrangements for light and sound show also in the public plaza....
