Professional courses remain top choice in lko universities
Lucknow, July 1 -- The deadline to submit admission forms at some universities in the city ended on Monday, while for others, it is set to close next week. Monday was the last date to apply for various courses at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University (KMCLU) and for postgraduate courses at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU).
Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) has already extended the deadline for postgraduate admissions to July 15.
Meanwhile, the deadline to fill in application forms for postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses at Lucknow University has been extended to July 7.
While Lucknow University has not yet shared the application data, KMCLU saw more applications for professional courses than traditional ones. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) course was among the most sought-after, receiving 143 application forms by Monday. This was followed by Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), LLB (3-year), BA LLB (5-year), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharma), and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), with 138, 136, 127, 118, 115, and 102 applications respectively.
A similar trend was observed at BBAU. By Monday evening, 1,965 forms were submitted for the MBA programme, followed by 1,585 for MCA and 1,441 for BEd. Other popular courses included LLM (1,074 applications), MSc Biotechnology (1,018), MA Political Science (824), and MSc Zoology (793).
At DSMNRU, 635 forms had been submitted by Monday for various postgraduate programmes, against 970 available seats. htc...
