ALIGARH, April 23 -- Prof Tasneem Suhail was appointed as first woman chairperson of the Department of Hindi at Aligarh Muslim University. She began her academic journey with an MPhil from AMU and a PhD from Agra University, focussing on a comparative study of Hindi and Urdu novels from the era of Munshi Prem Chand. She has been associated with AMU since 1988, having taught at Women's College and later joining Department of Hindi as a Lecturer in 1997. She has authored and translated several books. HTC...
