Varanasi, Aug. 8 -- Banaras Hindu University (BHU) vice-chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi on Thursday emphasised that prompt communication at the appropriate levels, effective coordination among team members, and awareness of each other's challenges are key to swift and sound decision-making. "Everyone in the university, including myself, must work diligently to ensure all decisions are taken with due diligence," he said. Prof Chaturvedi was addressing a press conference held at Committee Room No 1 of the Central Registry. He assumed office as the 29th vice-chancellor of BHU on August 1, 2025. Highlighting BHU's legacy, Prof Chaturvedi stated that the university is a globally renowned institution, founded by visionary educationist and freedom fighter Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya. "This unique seat of learning and research has been shaped by eminent academics for over a century. It is now the responsibility of the current leadership to carry forward and enhance the university's glory," he said. Prof Chaturvedi noted that BHU's vast size, diversity of disciplines, and illustrious legacy are among its greatest strengths. "We must explore and unlock the immense possibilities these strengths offer. By working as a unified team with a shared goal, we can make BHU the top choice for the brightest students and faculty applicants from across the country and abroad," he asserted. He stressed the importance of collective effort in addressing the concerns of students, faculty, and staff.
