Procurement key to public health: experts at PGI seminar
Lucknow, May 12 -- Procurement in public health is no longer just a logistical task but a crucial factor influencing the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of healthcare services. This was the consensus among experts from hospital administration departments across Uttar Pradesh during a national seminar held at SGPGIMS on Sunday to mark the department's 17th foundation day.
Held at the C.V. Raman Auditorium, the seminar-titled "Best Procurement Practices in Government Health Organizations: An Update"-was supported by the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), UP Medical Supplies Corporation Ltd. (UPMSCL), and the MSME department.
Chief guest Parth Sarathi Sen Sharma, principal secretary, health and medical education, stressed the importance of transparent and policy-driven procurement. Sessions focused on GeM platform usage, centralised procurement, and inventory digitisation.
