LUCKNOW, Oct. 28 -- A probe has found two staff nurses and a pharmacist at a community health centre in Kakori guilty of administering expired glucose content to a woman after she delivered her newborn, health officials said. The patient, one Kajal from Narona in Kakori, was brought to the CHC after she developed labour pains. There, she underwent a Cesarean section around 11 am on Saturday. After the surgery, the woman was shifted to the ward, where her health condition deteriorated around 4 am on Sunday, according to her brother-in-law Neeraj Srivastava. Her family members alleged that the woman's condition worsened due to the administration of expired glucose. She was then shifted to Queen Mary's Hospital of King George's Medical University. While any action against the three staff members was pending, the committee, comprising deputy CMO Dr KD Mishra, ACMO Dr Anil Srivastava, and Dr Jyoti, found them guilty of negligence and submitted its report on Monday, said chief medical officer (CMO) Dr NB Singh.
