Probe spans 7 states in Rs.27 lakh digital-arrest fraud
LUCKNOW, Dec. 2 -- An investigation into the digital-arrest fraud targeting a retired food department official has uncovered an alleged cyber network active across seven states, officials said.
The Lucknow Cyber Crime Cell is tracing the masterminds and money mules behind the Rs 27 lakh fraud, of which Rs 7 lakh has been frozen. The funds moved through accounts opened in seven state, allegedly created using forged Aadhaar details.
