Probe begins after body dumped at LBRNH
LUCKNOW, Dec. 10 -- An inquiry has begun after a body was purportedly dumped at Lok Bandhu Raj Narain Hospital (LBRNH), shortly after a 37-year-old patient died at a private facility in Krishna Nagar. The chief medical officer's (CMO) office sent a letter to LBRNH on Tuesday seeking CCTV footage, while a committee has been constituted to examine the sequence of events. CMO Dr NB Singh said action would follow if allegations against the private hospital are proven.
As per the CMO, one Karmveer Singh of Sarojininagar visited a private hospital on Monday and died during treatment. The hospital administration shifted his body to LBRNH in an ambulance. "There, hospital staff left the corpse on a stretcher outside the emergency department and fled. The body remained unattended for a long time until doctors and staff noticed it and informed the hospital administration," he said. The probe has been assigned to Dr AP Singh, nodal officer for nursing homes, who has asked LBRNH for the footage. A notice has also been issued to the private facility. htc...
