LUCKNOW, May 20 -- The state government has initiated an enquiry against State Lalit Kala Akademi (SLKA) director Shraddha Shukla, days after SLKA chairperson Sunil Vishwakarma submitted a written complaint to the CM citing alleged irregularities, disciplinary concerns, and actions inconsistent with state interests. The probe, announced on Monday by special secretary of the state culture department, Ravindra Kumar, follows Vishwakarma's April 17 complaint. Vishwakarma said, "I had written to the chief minister after seeing irregularities in payment of 88 artistes who participated in camps or won awards by the Akademi." The members of the enquiry committee are - additional director department of culture, Srishti Dhaon (chairperson), and finance controller department of culture Dilip Kumar Gupta and director UP state archaeology Renu Dwivedi (members). Director Shraddha Shukla, currently on medical leave, said, "I am happy that the enquiry has been set. It was long due, and it will bring out the truth. I will cooperate and support the committee in all possible ways." Committee chairperson Srishti Dhaon said, "It is too early to comment on the incident. We will ensure that all facts are heard and a neutral and unbiased report is submitted at the earliest," she said. With Shukla on leave, director of the UP state archives, Amit Agnihotri, has been given the additional charge of SLKA director until further notice. htc...
