new delhi, Nov. 13 -- The Air Traffic Controllers Guild (India) has written to civil aviation minister Rammohan Naidu seeking an investigation and urgent reforms in India's air traffic management infrastructure following last week's failure of the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS) at Delhi airport that caused massive flight delays and inconvenience to travellers.
The Guild said the breakdown, which paralysed operations between November 6 and 8, exposed "serious systemic flaws" in the maintenance and accountability mechanisms of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and demanded that those responsible be held accountable to prevent such lapses in future.
"Such failures are not mere technical glitches; they reflect upon the nation's aviation standards and preparedness," the letter said....
