President's visit: Yogi reviews Gkp readiness
Gorakhpur, June 28 -- Gorakhpur is all set to host President Droupadi Murmu during her two-day visit on June 30 and July 1, marking a significant moment for the region. From honouring young medical graduates to laying the foundation of Uttar Pradesh's first Ayurvedic Medical College, the President's visit will spotlight key developments in health and education.
Ahead of her arrival, chief minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a comprehensive review of preparations on Friday, ensuring all arrangements reflect the state's highest standards of hospitality and readiness.
President Murmu will grace three significant events-at AIIMS Gorakhpur, Mahayogi Gorakhnath University and the foundation-laying ceremony of the state's first Ayurvedic Medical College in Pipri, near Bhathat. On Friday afternoon, the CM reviewed preparations in Pipri where the first AYUSH University of the state is, through an aerial survey, on-ground inspection, and a high-level meeting with district administration and police officials. He directed senior officials to ensure arrangements are of the highest standard in terms of security, cleanliness, and convenience. "The event should leave an unforgettable impression on the hon'ble President," he said.
After arriving by helicopter at the university grounds, CM Yogi carried out a detailed inspection of the venue. Senior officials and University vice chancellor Prof K Ramachandra Reddy briefed him on the ongoing preparations.
The CM personally inspected critical areas including the President's route, plantation site, Swiss cottage/safe house, main stage and spectator gallery. He issued strict instructions to prioritize public safety, sanitation and ease of access throughout the premises.
While the district magistrate Krishna Karunesh held a review meeting with officials from various departments and inspected arrangements at the Circuit House, where the President will stay overnight.
On June 30, President Murmu will attend the convocation ceremony of the first MBBS batch of AIIMS Gorakhpur. She will confer gold medals on six top-performing students in recognition of their academic excellence. Around 500 students, AIIMS staff members and dignitaries are expected to attend the event at the AIIMS auditorium. On July 1, the President will lay the foundation stone for Uttar Pradesh's first Ayurvedic Medical College at Pipri. She will travel by car from the Circuit House, and the district administration has enhanced the route's aesthetics with greenery and freshly painted road dividers. Later that day, she will visit Mahayogi Gorakhnath University to inaugurate four major projects: a new academic building, a 1,500-seat auditorium, a state-of-the-art Panchakarma Centre with 11 treatment cottages, and the foundation stone laying for a 1,000-capacity girls' hostel.
Meanwhile, Geeta Press trustee Devi Dayal Agarwal shared that the Press has requested a brief audience with the President to present her with a set of Geeta Press publications in Odia and to extend an invitation to visit the historic press. HTC...
