Preserving Indian culture, art: 3-day Kashi Shabdotsav-2025 begins today
VARANASI, Nov. 16 -- Aiming at not only preserving Indian art, culture and literature but also taking them to the masses, Kashi Shabdotsav-2025 will start here on Sunday for which all preparations have been made.
The three-day (November 16-18) event is being organised at Swatantrata Bhavan Auditorium of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) under the joint auspices of Vishwa Samvad Kendra, Kashi, and BHU's Sanskrit department. Giving this information at a press conference here, convenor Dr Harendra Rai, member, Education Service Selection Commission, said: "Kashi Shabdotsav, which was started in 2023, is not merely an academic or cultural event; it is dedicated to the spirit of Indianness."
Head of BHU's Sanskrit department, Prof Sadashiv Dwivedi said patron of Kashi Shabdotsav Manoj Kant held several rounds of discussions and meetings during his extended stay in the city with intellectuals of Kashi, teachers of all universities in the city, students, and members of various organising committees regarding allocation of responsibilities related to the event. The inaugural function will be chaired by vice chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi while Sunil Ambekar, Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh, will be the chief speaker, he added.
Dr Harendra Rai said: "Kashi Shabdotsav establishes a meaningful dialogue on various subjects prevalent in every sphere of social life, focusing on national, international, and local issues. This year's Kashi Shabdotsav 2025 is centred around the theme World Welfare: Indian Culture."...
