Dehradun, May 10 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday held a high-level meeting with senior officials of the state government at the secretariat and asked them to remain fully prepared for any situation. He also asked officials to increase vigil in border areas. Dhami said relief and rescue teams should be kept ready to respond swiftly in case of any emergency. The chief minister asked officials to ensure the availability of adequate quantities of life-saving medicines, surgical equipment, and other essential medical resources in all hospitals across the state. He also directed the food and civil supplies department to ensure an uninterrupted supply of essential food items, ration, and drinking water throughout the state. Dhami asked the information department to remain active to prevent the spread of rumours and ensure timely dissemination of accurate information to the public. Dhami said, "The safety of people is the highest priority for the state government and it is fully prepared to handle any kind of emergency situation." Chief secretary Anand Bardhan, director general of police Deepam Seth, home secretary Shailesh Bagauli, and additional director general of police AP Anshuman were also present. Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand health department put all hospitals on alert and cancelled the leaves of doctors. Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar said, "Following directions from the central government, we have asked all hospitals to remain on alert, even though there is no emergency as yet. We have also cancelled the leaves of doctors."...
