Prayagraj resonates with devotion as ceremonies mirror Ayodhya celebrations
PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 26 -- Sangam city was immersed in an overwhelming wave of devotion on Tuesday as temples, monasteries and ghats echoed with chants and celebrations inspired by the flag-hoisting ceremony held at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
In a symbolic and devotional parallel to the Ayodhya event, a grand flag-hoisting ceremony was organised at the newly constructed Shri Ram Darbar Temple in the Parmarth Triveni Pushp campus. This temple, designed as a replica of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, became the focal point of celebrations in Prayagraj.
Campus manager Paresh Dave said the ceremony was conducted with full Vedic rituals. The program began at 11 am with Ganesh Puja and Navagraha rites, followed by special worship of the temple's northeastern pillars. After the consecration of the flagpole and the sacred flag, the dharma-dhwaja was hoisted during the auspicious Abhijit muhurta in the presence of saints and spiritual leaders.
Adding to the spiritual significance of the day was the observance of Vivah Panchami, marking the wedding of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Kaushalya Nand Giri of the Sanatan Kinnar Akhara graced the event with devotional wedding hymns.
