PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 20 -- District magistrate Manish Kumar Verma on Tuesday has directed officials of all government departments to ensure timely and quality disposal of public complaints. He instructed officers from the revenue, police, health and other departments to investigate grievances at the ground level and resolve them promptly. Taking serious note of negligence in complaint resolution and the absence of officers during Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas in Handia tehsil, the DM ordered the stoppage of one day's salary for 14 officers and six lekhpals. He also sought written explanations for their absence during the public hearing.
