Power substation operator found dead in Bareilly
Meerut, Sept. 18 -- The body of a young electricity substation computer operator was found under suspicious circumstances on Tuesday evening in the Fatehganj West area of Bareilly.
The deceased has been identified as Himanshu Mishra (28), whose body was discovered near the Link Road, a short distance from the Rahpura underpass. Blood was coming out of his nose and mouth, raising foul play concerns.
Police confirmed that Himanshu had been missing since around 9 pm on Monday. However, no missing person's report had been filed by his family. His father, Shriram Mishra, told the police that Himanshu was his only son and worked at the Junhai electricity substation as a computer operator.
On Monday evening, Himanshu had gone by motorcycle to Bareilly to attend a Shraaddh ceremony at the home of his uncle, Ramniwas Mishra. During a phone call with his wife Vandana around 9 pm, he mentioned he will be returning home later, after which his phone was switched off.
Following the discovery of the body, police initiated enquiries into the circumstances of his death. A postmortem examination was conducted, but the cause of death remained inconclusive.
As a precautionary measure, viscera samples were collected and preserved for further forensic analysis.
The police are investigating the matter to determine whether foul play or any other factors contributed to the tragedy. Officials have urged anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues....
