LUCKNOW, July 22 -- Over 200 complaints against the Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration (LESA) and all seven against Jal Nigam were rated unsatisfactory by citizens in a single month, prompting directives for disciplinary action against officials during a review meeting held on Monday. Taking serious note, divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob ordered that show-cause notices be issued to officials concerned and warned of strict action in case of further delay or substandard grievance redressal. The power department received 263 complaints last month, out of which 203 drew negative feedback. Jal Nigam fared no better, with all seven complaints lodged against it marked as poorly resolved. Additionally, six complaints from the chief minister's reference system and four registered on the CM helpline remain pending across the division, raising concerns over departmental accountability. Departments were directed to resolve all Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) complaints within the given timeframe and to ensure citizen satisfaction is recorded after resolution. "Any laxity going forward will not be tolerated, and action will be taken against responsible personnel without delay," Jacob said. It was also pointed out that poor complaint handling adversely affects the district's ranking on the IGRS portal and reflects on the efficiency of the officials involved. The meeting, chaired at the commissioner's office, was attended by additional commissioner (administration) Radheshyam and officials from various departments. Special focus was laid on unresolved cases flagged through the CM's office and helpline.htc...
