Portals of Badrinath Dham to open in May
Mussoorie, Feb. 3 -- The portals of Badrinath Dham in Chamoli district will be opened at 6am on May 4. The announcement was made on the auspicious occasion of "Basant Panchmi" during a ceremony held at Narendra Nagar, where the date was determined using traditional methods and astrological calculations on Sunday, people aware of the matter said. The process of determining the opening date for the Badrinath Dham began with a ceremony at Narendra Nagar Royal Palace after the Shri Dimri Dharmic Kedriya Panchayat members handed over the ritualistic "oil pitcher" to Royal Palace authorities in the presence of Maharaja Manujayendra Shah, officials of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee and members of the Dimri Panchayat, they added.
