PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 27 -- The authorities prepare to submit the medical reports of two minors-the alleged sexual abuse victims for which Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has been booked- in a sealed envelope before the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act court on Friday. The same day, the Allahabad high court will also hear Avimukteshwaranand's plea seeking anticipatory bail in the case registered against him. Meanwhile, senior police officials involved in the probe said the investigation is not yet complete and that a police team will visit Kashi to question the seer only after sufficient evidence is collected. "We are still collecting evidence since it is a sensitive matter involving two minor victims. The medical report will be handed over to the magistrate in a sealed envelope on Friday. The investigating officer is maintaining complete confidentiality and whatever emerges as evidence will be placed before the court," said ACP, Jhunsi, Vimal Kishore Mishra. He also said the allegations made publicly by complainant Ashutosh Brahmachari regarding the involvement of some VVIPs or politicians would be examined only if a formal complaint is submitted. "Whatever he said to the media is his personal claim and has little relevance to the ongoing investigation," he added. The case, registered at Prayagraj's Jhunsi police station on February 21 on the directions of a special Pocso court, named Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, his disciple Mukundanand and three unidentified individuals. The police have already recorded the statements of the two minors before a magistrate and completed their medical examinations. The FIR has been lodged under several sections of the Pocso Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Under Pocso Act provisions, once a child's statement is recorded, the police must complete the investigation and file a chargesheet within 60 days. Since the FIR was filed on court orders, the investigation is likely to remain under judicial scrutiny, and any delay or lapse could invite accountability. Police sources said investigators are now focusing on gathering electronic evidence, including mobile call detail records and CCTV footage from the camp area in the Magh Mela and Mahakumbh zones. Officers admit that reconstructing the alleged events from a crowded and temporary fair site is proving difficult. Officials said several incidents mentioned in the complaint occurred on different dates, demanding layered evidence collection. Establishing the identities and roles of the three unnamed accused is also a key part of the investigation....
