LUCKNOW, Nov. 27 -- Under the ongoing crackdown on organised crime in Lucknow, the Wazirganj and Thakurganj police teams on Wednesday seized properties worth Rs.1.10 crore belonging to three members of a criminal gang operating under the UP Gangsters Act. Acting on the orders of the police commissioner (dated November 22), officials verified and identified assets allegedly amassed through illegal activities by gang leader Ashish Singh alias Raja and his brothers Manish Singh and Avneesh Singh, all residents of Generalganj, under the Thakurganj police station limits. The seized assets include three luxury vehicles - a Scorpio, a Fortuner and a car, along with a 2,666 sq ft land parcel in village Narauna, Kakori tehsil. The action was taken under Section 14(1) of the UP Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act.
