LUCKNOW, Jan. 8 -- Every second counted when police found a woman unconscious on a roadside in Para on Wednesday morning, froth oozing from her mouth. Instead of waiting for an ambulance, officers made a split-second call that saved her life. She had allegedly consumed poison. "Waiting for an ambulance could prove fatal," Suresh Singh, station house officer (SHO) Para, said. The officer in charge decided to use a private vehicle. A woman constable accompanied the victim as they prepared to move. Within minutes, traffic police and personnel from nearby stations swung into action. The woman was taken to Lok Bandhu Shri Raj Narayan Combined Hospital, which later declared her out of danger.HTC...
