Bahraich, July 11 -- In an act of kindness, superintendent of police Ghanshyam Chaurasiya of Shravasti helped Maina Devi, a poor girl from Jarwalia Sohelwa in Sirsia area, return to school after she was forced to drop out due to poverty. Maina had stopped studying after Class 8, unable to afford the new school session starting in April. Moved by her situation, SP Chaurasiya got her admitted to Class 9 at Government Inter College, Gabbapur. He also gave her a bicycle, school bag, books, notebooks, pens, lunchbox, and other school supplies. Shravasti has the lowest literacy rate in Uttar Pradesh, with just 34.78% female literacy. In such a backward region, the SP's gesture sends a strong message in support of girls' education. His action shows how a small step can bring big change. It has inspired the local community and given new hope to Maina and others like her....
