LUCKNOW, June 12 -- Three young men, all former jail-mates and aged 20 and below, executed three chain-snatching incidents in two days with the hope they could one day afford an expensive sports bike, they reportedly told police after they were caught following a chase near Khargapur Crossing in Gomti Nagar here on Tuesday afternoon. Only a day before, they made away on bikes after targeting two women in Gomti Nagar and Gomti Nagar Extension. On June 8, a similar incident was reported in Vibhuti Khand. One of the trio is a minor, aged 16. "Vimal Rawat, 20, and Siddharth Yadav, 19, and a 16-year-old were apprehended by a joint team of Gomti Nagar police and the Eastern Zone's Surveillance and Crime units," said DCP (East) Shashank Singh. The DCP added: "The trio on Tuesday snatched a gold chain from a woman in Vineet Khand. An FIR against the incident was registered at the Gomti Nagar police station under Section 304(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita." In the span of a few days, they targeted several women in Gomti Nagar, Vibhuti Khand, and Gomti Nagar Extension," said Singh. ADCP East Pankaj Singh said Vimal and Siddharth had multiple FIRs filed against them. The juvenile is booked in a theft case registered in 2022....
