Agra, Dec. 3 -- Agra police arrested two members of a gang, including a woman, involved in honey-trapping and blackmaling on Tuesday. They used to make videos of the victims and extorted money in lieu of the videos. Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) city for Agra Police Commissionerate Syed Abbas Ali said at a press conference on Tuesday that there was information about such gang active in honey-trapping and blackmailing. "Cases were registered on complaints lodged and during investigation, Kamla Nagar police came across this gang which used to trap victims through mobile calls. They used to invite the victims to a hotel where the woman member used to get close to them and other gang members used to make video of the act," said Ali. "The gang then used to threaten the victim and demanded money to keep the video a secret. The data in mobile recovered reveal that three such men were targeted by the gang and money was realised," stated DCP. "A woman involved was arrested along with a co-accused Ganesh while three others Riyaz, Parvendra and Pravesh are absconding," said the official. The woman in police custody is resident of Bah area of Agra and was habitual of online gaming and had suffered huge losses leading to heavy debt on her. She came in contact with Parvendra and was introduced to Riyaz who claimed to be a cop posted in Kanpur. The gang had already realised Rs 4 lakh from one and 12 lakh from other victims.
