Bahraich, March 16 -- Police in Bahraich have arrested two members of an alleged gang involved in motorcycle theft and snatching incidents in the city. According to the police, the arrests were made around 4:30 am on Sunday near the Ramlila Maidan T-junction in the Kotwali Nagar area, Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, India. Circle officer (City) Narayan Datt Tiwari said the police recovered four stolen motorcycles, a ladies' purse, cosmetic items and Rs.1,330 in cash from the accused. The arrested men have been identified as Utsav Yadav alias Chunni ,20, a resident of Bashirganj, and Rizwan alias Baura ,20, of Qazipura North in Bahraich. Police said several incidents of motorcycle theft and purse snatching had been reported from different areas of the city in recent days. Cases were registered at Kotwali Nagar and Ramgaon police stations under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. On the directions of superintendent of police RN Singh, a special team was formed to investigate the cases. Police said the accused were involved in motorcycle thefts reported from the Gudri, District Hospital, Ghantaghar and Mirakhelpura areas. They were also linked to a purse snatching incident near the Bashirganj Hanuman Temple crossing on March 10. Officials added that the duo was also involved in an earring snatching case registered in the Khairighat police station area. Police records show that Utsav Yadav has a criminal history with six cases registered against him. Further legal action is being taken....
