Lucknow, Feb. 3 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said the Noida International Airport at Jewar is likely to be inaugurated later this month by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing a press conference here, Adityanath said the airport is ready and that the process of obtaining the aerodrome licence is in its final stages. "I believe that this month, the airport will be inaugurated by the prime minister," he said. Once operational, the Noida International Airport will become Uttar Pradesh's fifth international airport, adding to facilities in Lucknow, Varanasi, Kushinagar and Ayodhya. The Noida International Airport is a greenfield project being developed in the Jewar area of Gautam Buddh Nagar district under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The chief minister praised the Union budget and its various components vis-a-vis Uttar Pradesh, saying: "The budget will definitely help UP to be Nayae Bharat Ka Naya Uttar Pradesh (New UP of New India) and play a decisive role in making Viksit UP of Viksit Bharat (developed UP of developed India)" He asserted that the budget fulfils the aspirations of Uttar Pradesh with its special focus on the Micro Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. Adityanath said the budget will help UP to acquire new technologies, develop training programs, and enhance packaging in the MSME sector. "This budget also fulfils the aspirations of the country's most populous state. It primarily includes a budget allocation of Rs.10,000 crore for the MSME sector," Yogi said at the press conference. Yogi said two of the seven railway corridors--Delhi-Varanasi and Varanasi-Siliguri--have been allocated to Uttar Pradesh and these will benefit the state's already excellent rail infrastructure." "The Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors both pass through Uttar Pradesh, where our largest logistics hub is being developed. Uttar Pradesh will reap the benefits of this as well," he added. "Reform, growth, and fiscal discipline are clearly evident in this budget. By weaving these three elements together, this budget will serve as a strong foundation, enabling us to build a stronger India and connect future generations to this vision of progress," he said. Adityanath held a Janata Darshan on Monday morning where he met scores of people, accepted their applications and issued directions for proper redressal of their grievances, said a spokesperson. The chief minister instructed district magistrates, revenue officials and the police administration to take all matters seriously, listen to people's problems and, after due inquiry, take strict action against the guilty. Some children also attended the Janata Darshan along with their parents. A young girl saluted the CM who advised her to study with dedication. Smiling, the CM asked her name and about her studies. He distributed chocolates to all the children. A number of cases related to illegal encroachment were presented before the chief minister during the Janata Darshan. After hearing everyone, the CM accepted their applications and ordered appropriate action. He directed officials posted in districts to similarly listen to grievances locally, ensure justice for petitioners and take strict action against offenders. A woman arrived with her child, who is undergoing treatment at KGMU. At her request, the chief minister ordered that financial help be provided. "The 25 crore residents of the state are my family. The government stands with everyone in happiness and sorrow. From day one, financial assistance for treatment has been provided, and this will continue. No one's treatment will stop due to lack of money," he said. A young girl, who was present with her mother, recited a poem for the chief minister. Impressed, the CM praised her and asked whether she would go to school and study hard. On her affirmative reply, he ordered that her admission be arranged.
