Plea seeks Dhirendra Shastri as spiritual witness
PRAYAGRAJ, Dec. 13 -- The Allahabad high court on Friday adjourned hearing in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Eidgah title dispute case till January 30, 2026. Justice Avnish Saxena fixed the next date for hearing after hearing counsel for the parties. The court verified the documents regarding some amendments in pleadings.
In another development, Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nirman Trust filed an application seeking implication of Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, Peethadheshwar of Bageshwar Dham, as spiritual witness in this case.
In the application, it has been claimed that Shastri has good knowledge of religious traditions as well as historical evidence of this case. According to the applicant, there is no reference of Eidgah in the record of Nagar Nigam, Mathura.
It is to recall that the Hindu side has filed 18 suits for possession of land after removal of structure of Shahi Eidgah masjid as well as for restoration of temple and for permanent injunction.
