Play 'Laila Majnu' staged at UPSNA
LUCKNOW, June 29 -- A play 'Laila Majnu' was on Saturday staged at Sant Gadge Ji Maharaj Auditorium of UP Sangeet Natak Akademi (UPSNA) by GJ Events and Entertainment in collaboration with Helping Hearts Foundation. It was directed by Alok Srivastava while the music was given by Zafar Sanjari of Mumbai.
Besides, a discussion was also held on the work of prominent Hindi writer Amritlal Nagar in which speakers Richa Nagar and Ashok Banerjee underscored that the theatre was the foundation of personality development.
The importance of spiritual love apart from physical love in the modern era was depicted in the play written by Munshi Dil Lakhnavi about 150 years ago. Som Ganguly essayed the role of Majnu while Laila was played by Bhavika Chaturvedi.
