Plaint over protest, BJP demand action on SDM
Bharatpur, Nov. 8 -- Workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday launched a protest before cabinet minister for water resources Suresh Rawat, demanding action against a sub-divisional magistrate in Bharatpur, for registering a complaint against one of the cadres.
On Tuesday, a public hearing was held in Fatehpur village under Uchchain sub-division.
According to the villagers, the sub-divisional magistrate left the spot as soon as they complained about basic problems in the area, following which they launched a protest against the SDM.
A villager Dinesh Bhatra, who is also a BJP worker was booked for leading the protest.
Dinesh Bhatra alleged that the officer is incompetent, and the locals are disappointed with her working style. All party workers are demanding action against her. She should be punished with a transfer, Bhatra said.
Minister Rawat said, "The party workers are agitated over the complaint filed against one of the members. I have directed district administrative officials to not repeat such incidents in future."
